Maintenance Technician

We’re looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician to help keep our equipment and facility operating safely and efficiently. If you enjoy troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and solving mechanical problems, you’ll find challenging work in our clean, modern manufacturing facility where your skills are appreciated and your career can grow.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative machine maintenance on production equipment
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
  • Repair production machinery and shop equipment
  • Read manuals, diagrams, and equipment specifications
  • Fabricate replacement parts using machine shop equipment
  • Coordinate PM schedules with production
  • Maintain maintenance inventory
  • Assist with facility maintenance including snow removal and exterior upkeep
  • Follow all safety procedures

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude with the ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement while maintaining a strong commitment to workplace safety
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
  • Team-oriented with good communication skills
  • Occasional overtime is available based on production needs
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Experience with electrical troubleshooting, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, or welding is a plus

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work safely at all times while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
  • Load and unload materials for heat treat furnaces, laser engraving equipment, surface grinder, and saws.
  • Wrap and unwrap tool steel for heat treating.
  • Program and operate heat treat furnaces using established process recipes and monitor furnace temperatures throughout the cycle.
  • Cut steel stock to length using horizontal band saws.
  • Operate laser engraving equipment to mark manufactured parts, including running existing programs and creating new engraving programs as needed.
  • Set up and operate a surface grinder, making adjustments to achieve required dimensions and finishes.
  • Read and interpret shop drawings, work orders, and specifications.
  • Verify drawings and job documentation match production requirements.
  • Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gages, hardness testers, and other measuring equipment.
  • Complete quality inspections and required production documentation.
  • Monitor product quality and communicate any manufacturing concerns to the Shop Manager.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and assist with preventative maintenance.
  • Submit maintenance requests and notify supervisors of equipment issues or unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Two or more years of manufacturing or machine shop experience preferred.
  • Experience with heat treating, saw operation, laser engraving, or surface grinding is a plus; training is available for the right candidate.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to accurately use measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, and hardness testers.
  • Basic math skills and the ability to perform shop calculations.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Build, wire, and assemble electrical control panels from electrical schematics.
  • Mount electrical components, route wiring, and install machine wiring according to drawings and specifications.
  • Inspect assemblies for continuity, proper labeling, and circuit integrity while performing static and simulated operational testing.
  • Build wire harnesses and complete preliminary electrical connections.
  • Read bills of materials (BOMs) and shop routings to obtain required parts and verify components before installation.
  • Use hand and power tools, conduit benders, pipe-threading equipment, multimeters, continuity testers, and other electrical test equipment.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counting and report BOM or routing discrepancies.
  • Complete accurate production documentation for job costing.
  • Identify and report defective materials, equipment, or unusual conditions.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One or more years of experience building electrical control panels.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Familiarity with industrial control components, including disconnect switches, relays, motor starters, PLCs, and similar devices.
  • Working knowledge of electrical test equipment, including digital multimeters.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail.
  • Organized and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexible and willing to work overtime as needed.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology or a related technical field.
  • Industrial machinery wiring or machine-building experience.

Position Summary:

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for inspecting, measuring, documenting, and maintaining quality records for manufactured and outsourced components. This role ensures all products meet engineering specifications, customer requirements, and company quality standards.

Schedule:

First Shift with Flexible Hours

Pay Range:

$20-$28 per hour depending on experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, document, and maintain quality records for manufactured parts, assemblies, and finished products.
  • Verify product quality and compliance with specifications using blueprints, engineering drawings, schematics, and precision measuring equipment.
  • Review and enforce quality standards for machined parts, assemblies, heat-treated components, and vendor-supplied materials.
  • Perform inspections on in-process and completed fabricated or machined components and determine acceptance or rejection based on established criteria.
  • Inspect parts before and after heat-treating processes and accurately document inspection results.
  • Inspect incoming vendor-supplied products to ensure compliance with print specifications and tolerance requirements.
  • Record rework activities in the ERP system and identify root causes when applicable.
  • Provide inspection documentation and recommendations to Engineering and Machine Shop Leads for disposition of nonconforming parts.
  • Follow up with department managers to verify corrective actions and dispositions have been completed.
  • Track and analyze rework trends to identify recurring quality issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide inspection support for customer products used by the Proto-1 Development and Assembly teams as needed.
  • Operate quality inspection equipment, including:
    • Faro Arm
    • Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
    • Optical Comparator

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Quality control inspection experience preferred but not required. Willing to train in-house.
  • Manufacturing environment experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of calibration procedures and inspection documentation.
  • Proficiency using precision measuring equipment, including:
    • Micrometers
    • Calipers
    • Various gauges
    • Angle blocks
    • Related inspection tools
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T.
  • High level of initiative and accountability.
  • Flexible and willing to assist in multiple areas as business needs require.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong multitasking, prioritization, and time-management skills.
  • Proficient with ERP systems, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience programming CMM, Faro Arm, and Optical Comparator software is preferred.

  • Operate Equipment Safely — Ensure safe operation and confirm preventative maintenance has been completed on assigned equipment.
  • Quality Control — Monitor and verify the quality of machined materials throughout production.
  • Follow Safety Standards — Adhere to all company safety rules and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience setting up and operating CNC mills and/or lathes.
