Electrical Programmer/Technician

Job Title: Electrical Programmer/Technician

Hourly Position: Required 40 hour work week

Standard Work Hours:    Monday – Friday, 6:30am to 3pm

Reports to:  Engineering Manager

Works closely with: All Departments

Position Summary: Under the direction of Engineering the individual will be responsible for start-up and commissioning, troubleshooting, and repairing of control systems while assuring the proper documentation of installed programs and Graphical User Interfaces meet the customer specifications for projects and are functioning properly. In addition, assisting the service department with customer calls, field evaluations, installations, and training on control systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Performing programming of control systems
  • Start-up and commissioning, troubleshooting, and repairing of control systems
  • Creation and maintenance of field reports and drawings for record keeping and product revisions to as built documentation
  • Troubleshooting customer calls for machinery out in field and performing programming corrections to account for field conditions
  • Work from electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, written, verbal, and own knowledge for determining location and placement of electrical assemblies, conduit, fittings, motors, controls, and components
  • Use common assembly, hand and power tools, drills, conduit benders, pipe threading equipment and measuring devices such as volt meters, continuity testers and test bench equipment as required
  • Perform inventory control and procedures with regards to cycle counting, verification of on hand balances and report part discrepancies, B.O.M. and routing errors
  • Report time, production or other required information on proper forms
  • Detect and report all faulty equipment, material, or other unusual conditions to supervisor
  • Observe and follow all prescribed safety rules and regulations
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • An Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or relevant equivalent experience required
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience with electrical/mechanical systems design with emphasis on control systems
  • Working knowledge of the following following Engineering Application software, AB RsLogix 5000, AB FTView, Omron CX Designer/Programmer, Maple Systems EzBuilder 5000,RMC Tools, and software applications from other manufacturers a plus
  • Read and interpret blueprints and electrical specifications as required
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to determine the origin of problems and initiate corrective action
  • High degree of personal initiative
  • Must be flexible, able to adjust schedule and pitch-in as needed
  • Must be able to work overtime
  • Resourceful, accurate and highly organized with an attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge of ERP System, Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

 

Physical and Environmental Elements:

  • This is a production department classification and employee’s work in a plant environment with moderate to high noise levels, non-controlled temperature conditions and must stand and/or walk for approximately 6 – 8 hours per shift and lifts up to 65

Position Summary: Produce complete controls solutions and electrical design packages based on customer specifications and standardized design practices

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with Mechanical Engineers during design process to design a control system that will enable the machine to perform its intended function safely and reliably
  • Formulate and produce complete electrical design package which includes detailed schematics, cable routing diagram, panel layouts, and bills of materials
  • Responsible for electrical CAD drawings and checks the overall presentation and layout
  • Monitors CAD files for compliance with project standards, guidelines, and procedures

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • A post-secondary technology diploma or electrical design degree or equivalent
  • Experience in machinery manufacturing
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to determine the origin of problems and initiate corrective action
  • High degree of personal initiative
  • Must be flexible, able to adjust schedule and pitch-in as needed
  • Resourceful, accurate and highly organized with an attention to detail

CNC Machinist

Job Title: CNC Machinist

Standard Work Hours:    Monday – Friday, 6:30 am to 3 pm | Flexible Hours Available | Minimum forty hour work week

Reports to: Machine Shop Lead

Position Summary

Under general direction from the Machine Shop Lead, manufacture parts using different types of machines/tools in a large machine shop; works with various types and sizes of material according to specifications based on drawings, work standards, and Proto-1 quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Performing highly skilled and high-precision machine and bench work as required, utilizing both manual and CNC lathes & milling machines.
  • Work from and in accordance with specifications and design criteria including but not limited to verbal instructions, shop orders, and drawings; performs standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, as well as speeds and feeds of machining. Ensure drawings match order requests.
  • Responsible for safe operation of equipment and make sure preventative maintenance items have been performed on the equipment to be used
    • Work with maintenance to perform preventative maintenance on equipment
    • Complete a Maintenance Request Form when necessary and advise immediate supervisor of any immediate problems
  • Monitors the quality of the material produced.
    • Check the first piece ran on each order and periodically throughout larger runs.
    • Notify the shop manager of any problems in manufacturing the product
    • Accurately complete necessary paperwork such as Inspection Reports.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations including:
    • Notifies immediate supervisor of any unsafe conditions in the workplace
    • Safety glasses
    • Ear plugs (if required)
    • Steel toe shoes
    • Practice good housekeeping habits
    • Follow procedural guidelines in all areas of operation

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Equivalent to high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two years of machine shop experience.
  • Basic knowledge of machine shop equipment and processes used in a manufacturing environment.
  • Read and interpret shop drawings
  • Demonstrates basic math skills with use of a calculator.
  • Required to use and read a tape measure, micrometer, caliper, and other various measuring equipment.
  • Considerable experience in mechanical trouble shooting.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and complete tasks independently
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with staff.
  • High degree of personal initiative
  • Resourceful, accurate, and highly organized with an attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage, prioritize, and balance multiple tasks
  • Must be flexible, able to adjust schedule, and pitch-in as needed
  • Must be able to work overtime
  • Valid Driver’s License
