Quality Control Inspector

Job Title: Quality Control Inspector

Hourly Position: 40 hour work week

Standard Work Hours:  Monday – Friday, 6:30am to 3pm

Reports to:  President

Works closely with: Engineering, Machine Shop, Assembly

Position SummaryResponsible for measuring, inspecting, recording, and maintaining quality records for manufactured and outsourced parts

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Inspects, documents, and maintains records of manufactured parts or products to certify quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Evaluates fabricated or mechanical production parts or modules against standards by reviewing blueprints and schematics, and using measuring tools.
  • Reviews quality standards for machines, assembly, heat treating parts and vendor supplied parts.
  • Inspects finished or in-process fabricated or mechanical parts, equipment, and assemblies and determines acceptance or rejection.
  • Inspect parts that require heat treat prior and after heat treat is completed, document findings.
  • Inspect products received from vendors that they meet the print tolerances and document findings.
  • Document rework in ERP system and provide cause or rework.
  • Provide documentation to Engineering or Machine Shop Leads for corrective action.
  • Follow up with department manager to verify corrective action was completed.
  • Charts re-work to show problem areas.
  • Follow, maintain and enforce manufacturing safety standards and practices.
  • Follow procedural guidelines in all areas of operation.

 

 

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum (5) years of experience within the QC Inspection field
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Knowledge of calibration and inspection reports
  • Experience with Micrometer, Caliper, Various Gages, Angle blocks, etc.
  • High degree of personal initiative
  • Must be flexible, able to adjust schedule and pitch-in as needed
  • Resourceful, accurate and highly organized with an attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage, prioritize and balance multiple tasks
  • Proficient in ERP System, Outlook, and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

Assembly/Tool Technician

Job Title: Assembly Technician / Tool Tester

Hourly Position: Required 40 hour work week

Standard Work Hours:    Monday – Friday, 6:30am to 3pm

Reports to:  Assembly Manager

Works closely with: Engineering, Customers, Machine Shop, QA,

Position Summary: Under general direction, performs various production assembly functions according to specifications to ensure quality of product.  Create and work with knowledge base of material movement in forming tubing and piping ends.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Accomplish various production assembly functions that are somewhat complicated in nature
  • Think out of the box and problem solve mechanical and forming issues
  • Assemble products or sub-assemblies according to verbal or written instructions, or by following drawings or diagrams.
  • Work from and in accordance with specifications and design criteria including but not limited to verbal instructions and drawings; performs standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, speeds, and feeds of machining. Ensures drawings match order requests
  • Install, troubleshoot and maintains products/equipment
  • Complete customer service forms, tool testing forms, machine testing forms, and final check-off list for all parts/machines
  • Ensure all sample parts have full inspection completed by QA and records are shipped with parts
  • Must have your own tools typical of what would be required to sufficiently perform the normal duties of an assembler trade.
  • Operates Forklift, overhead crane, hand tools, power tools and/or production equipment.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations including:
    • Safety glasses
    • Ear plugs (if required)
    • Steel toe shoes
  • Prepare and maintain daily time card utilizing the ERP Shop System with complete information on accomplished tasks
  • Notifies immediate supervisor of any unsafe conditions in the workplace
  • Practice good housekeeping habits
  • Subject to any and all miscellaneous work related duties requested by immediate supervisor
  • Follow procedural guidelines in all areas of operation

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Equivalent to high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two years of manufacturing experience.
  • Read and interpret shop drawings
  • Considerable experience in mechanical trouble shooting.
  • Knowledge of machine shop equipment and processes used in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrates math skills with use of a calculator.
  • Required to use and read a tape measure, micrometer, and a Vernier Caliper
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and complete tasks independently;
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with staff.
  • High degree of personal initiative
  • Must be flexible, able to adjust schedule and pitch-in as needed
  • Resourceful, accurate and highly organized with an attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage, prioritize and balance multiple tasks
  • Must be able to work overtime
  • Valid Driver’s License

 

Physical and Environmental Elements:

 

  • This is a production department classification and employee’s work in a plant environment

with moderate to high noise levels, non-controlled temperature conditions and must stand                                                and/or walk for approximately 6 – 8 hours per shift and lifts up to 65 lbs.
